In the past twenty-five years I have used technology in my work not only as a tool but often as a subject. Many pieces - from "United States 1-4" (1983) through ''The Speed of Darkness" (1997) were about the many ways that technology changes our lives and our perceptions. In the last few years even though I am still interested in new technologies I am finding that they are increasingly losing their allure. In a world where almost everything is a multi-media show, the new media and multi- media artists are in a challenging situation.

"Six Walks" is a series of six half hour shows for late night internet radio. "Six Walks" combines the binaural audio material recorded on these walks with music and commentary. Each walk will explore various relationships we have to time such as expectation, prediction, memory. And each walk will use the route as a way to tell a story, a narrative. "Six Walks" will also explore contemporary ideas about freedom, uncertainty and improvisation.
